Young piano virtuoso Domantas Karalius performs works by Bach, Chopin, Beethoven and Wuorinen, Sat., Dec. 2, 5pm

We're delighted to welcome back pianist Domantas Karalius. His music studies began in his native Lithuania at 5, and continued at the prestigious M.K. Ciurlionis National School for the Arts in Vilnius, where he studied with Gabriele Kondrataite and Aidas Puodziukas, and at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. Mr. Karalius currently studies piano with Benjamin Hochman at the Bard College Conservatory of Music. There, he was awarded the Toni and Martin Sosnoff Scholarship. Mr. Karalius has also been a first prize winner at many international competitions including the 2002 N. Rubinstein competition in France, the 2003 Cazarca Ligure international competition in Italy, the 2009 Klaveri Eriala Opilaste Koolidevahelisel Konkursil competition in Estonia, and the Kaunas Sonorum 2011 competition in Lithuania. In 2014, he won a YAMAHA Music Foundation of Europe award for piano performance. Please join us for an extraordinary evening of music with this talented young artist.
