Dear Friend, For twelve years you have generously supported our mission to fulfill Mary Deane Beattie's bequest to Catskill. In this last year alone the Friends of Beattie-Powers offered 20 concerts and lectures, most of which were free. In the year ahead we want to offer more programs and more excitement. And, of course, still maintain the six-acre park as a refuge for Catskill and its increasing number of visitors. We need your continued support to make all this happen. The Friends of Beattie-Powers have been an official 501c3 charity since 2005, when we assumed responsibility for the majority of costs for day-to-day management. We started with a neglected house and an overgrown park. Our events have increased enjoyment, while cutting costs to taxpayers to almost nothing (!) for this village-owned asset. We have done all this with volunteers, through sheer hard work, through fundraising, and through private donors like you. We are now formalizing our fundraising efforts in three major areas to stabilize our finances and to make sure the next generation of Catskillians will enjoy our offerings - including major work on the house, improvements to the park grounds, and support for our free programming. Your legacy gift in one of the categories noted below will be recognized in a meaningful way, to be announced at our Saturday, December 9 Holiday Party, from 3pm to 6pm at the house.
