Over the past fourteen years our
calendar of events has expanded considerably. This year's is our most ambitious
ever, including concerts by emerging musicians, recitals by established
artists, performances by jazz greats, and lectures covering a wide range of
interests.
However, the Covid-19 emergency has
changed our lives dramatically, and we've joined our friends in the performing
arts and cancelled all our events. While the intimacy of our performances is a
unique asset, during this extraordinary time the proximity you enjoy at
Beattie-Powers Place becomes an issue of health and safety, our greatest
concern for you.
In June, we will reassess our
options according to CDC guidelines. However, until further notice, expect our
events to resume in Fall, 2020. Our
calendar is packed with wonderful experiences we look forward to sharing with
you.
In catastrophic times the arts
provide comfort and escape. Movies, during the Great Depression. Concerts at
Albert Hall, during the London Blitz. But while we can't gather in theaters for
a time, we're lucky technology has given us so many options for entertainment.
And, when you've had enough Netflix, stroll over to our park and enjoy the
fresh air and views!
Stay safe, and we look forward to
seeing you as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
Bob
President, Friends of Beattie-Powers
