Please join us for a talk on the Modern Movement in Cuban
architecture, focusing on the architect Nicolás Quintana (1925-2011),
one of the leading architects in Havana in the mid-20th century.

Asteinza will present the work of Quintana and his contemporaries,
including an excerpt of work in progress from the upcoming film, Havana
Modern: the Architecture of Nicolás Quintana www.quintanaproject.com

Guest: Architectural Historian Eduardo Luis Rodriguez, currently
teaching at Princeton University as a guest scholar from Cuba.
Josef
Asteinza is the producer and writer for the film Havana Modern. He
studied architecture at Columbia University and has traveled to Europe
for architectural research for the 2003 exhibition Mies in Berlin at the
Museum of Modern Art; and to Cuba in 1999 for an independent project
through the Architectural League of New York. He currently works as a
campus planner at NYU Langone Medical Center.
