Our Annual Fall Potluck Luncheon, served with a side of history, Saturday, Oct. 1 at noon

What's on the menu this year? As ever, a great afternoon with friends and neighbors -- and a meal that's as dazzling in variety as it is delicious. Once again, you're invited to show off your culinary skills by bringing your favorite dish. Or, if you prefer not to cook, we ask for a donation of $15 per person for a wonderful lunch...and then some. You see, after a quick

Annual Report and Members' Meeting at 1:30, we'll turn this year's Potluck into a truly historic event.
For the first time ever, the story of Beattie's nearly 175 years of existence will be presented by popular historian, Sylvia Hasenkopf.
"A History of Beattie-Powers Place" is the result of almost a year of research, and her findings will be news to all of us! We can't wait...and you shouldn't, either, because every seat in the house is filled when Sylvia speaks at Beattie. So come for lunch. Save a seat for her talk at 2 pm. And while you're here...
Please consider joining Friends of Beattie-Powers. Or renew if you're already a member. We know times are tough, especially after Irene. But it's just $35 per person, $50 a couple, to join. And it helps us keep our programs (like the popular "Bard at Beattie" concert series) free to the public -- many of whom could use a break and some cheering up just about now!
